I bet you've never heard of anyone with the last name "Reidhead". If you have, then its 90% probable they originated in northern Arizona. Towns like Show Low, Pinetop, Snowflake. They are ranchers and builders, hard scrabble developers. A few local politicians. How did I end up doing what I do here in Denver? In 1970 my folks turned hippie and hit the road. The rest is history.

St. Louis is full of pocket neighborhoods steeped in culture, history and flair. The Delmar Loop tops the list with eclectic stores and chef-driven restaurants. Carved out of an abandoned bank building, Fitz's is a combination restaurant and bottling company serving their signature root beer alongside an extensive food menu. I managed Fitz's Restaurant during which time I also took on the creative aspects for marketing. Over time it grew to encompass both the restaurant and the bottling company.

With four campuses spread across the city, St. Louis Community College (SLCC) is a massive enterprise. From student handbooks to graduation ceremonies, recruitment material to alumni keynote events, there was never a shortage of work. In fact, each campus had its own co-brand, making it four distinct clients under one umbrella.

I started at Heinrich as a production artist, learned coding on the side, then built the agency's first web site. It won an international award and Heinrich Interactive was born. With clients like Macy's and Bloomingdales, the division was well-positioned to establish itself as an industry leader. Starting with online loyalty programs then branching out to early e-commerce, Heinrich Interactive gave their clients a footprint in the exploding online retail landscape. The net result? We grew and succeeded even through the dot-com bubble burst.

That's a lot of coffee.
